Addy is terrified to introduce her boyfriend to her good friend Sarah. Sarah leans left on the political spectrum and Addy's boyfriend leans slightly right. Having minor PTSD from all the other right-leaning boyfriends Sarah hasn't accepted, she's scared history is going to repeat itself. She really loves her boyfriend and wants it to go well (she needs her friends to like him too), but her anxiety threatens to ruin it before Sarah even gets a chance to.

A grandpa tells his grandchild a story, not knowing that he's telling a story about himself, and that the story is actually a delusion. He's diagnosed with schizophrenia and Alzheimer's, but his diseases work together in this moving story. While the grandpa's memory is declining, it allows him to erase the traumas of his past, including the internalized homophobia that was his childhood; it gives him a second chance to be able to grow closer with his grandchild, and with himself. Will he finally find a way to accept his identity in his last days?

Julie is a New York editor who works in the same building where 9/11 happened. Ten years have passed since the devastating tragedy, but she isn't adjusting as well as her coworkers. She's lost everything—her self-sacrificing firefighter father and brother, her fiancé, her faith . . . Her brother and father died in the attack, and her fiancé left her due to her inability to move on with her life, and her self-harm that he couldn't bear to watch her do to herself anymore. After an inexplainable crash in the elevator, Julie is somehow able to talk with her brother, and it's through revisiting her feelings on 9/11/2001 that she's able to redefine what exactly faith means to her.
